BROADBAND WIRELESS IN GUJARAT STATE WIDE AREA NETWORK
Adino Telecom is proud to be associated with Gujarat State Wide Area Network in terms of providing horizontal expansion of the GSWAN Network at District and Taluka Headquarters on Point to Multipoint Broadband Wireless Access Systems.
Adino Telecom started deployment of Broadband Wireless Networks in GSWAN from middle of the year 2003. Prior to this Adino Telecom had carried out extensive field trials and demonstrations of Broadband Wireless technology to the Government of Gujarat through the IT Department basically to establish that the wireless technology is suited for horizontal expansion of the SWAN networks keeping in view the following requirements:-
In other words the Broadband Wireless Technology was thoroughly tested for its suitableness in the deployment of GSWAN network.
The Broadband Wireless Network has now grown to a total of 1000+ nodes, out of which 600 nodes are installed at District Headquarter level covering all the 25 districts in the State and 300 numbers at the Taluka Headquarter level for horizontal connectivity of the Government Offices.
The number of remotes in each district depends on the size of the district and the Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar districts networks are connecting around 30 to 50 offices per district. The hop distances varies between 5 to 15 kms from the District Headquarters Office.
The Broadband Wireless Systems has been integrated with the backbone network at District and Taluka Headquarters so as to provide seamless connectivity between the horizontal offices and the data centers at Gandhinagar.
For the District and the Taluka Networks, we have also installed more than 700 towers both of Guy supported as well as self supported types with heights ranging from 6 meters to 30 meters.
The District Broadband Wireless Network has been extensively used for video conferencing sessions between the horizontally located office[s] in District[s] and the State Capital and the network has given consistent good performance for the various events for which the video conferencing sessions were held.
The horizontal expansion of the network connecting major Government Departments like:-

Some of these Government Departments also have a large LAN in their offices and the Wireless Network is used either for inter connection between the departmental offices or between a Department Office in the District/Taluka and the Capital in Gandhinagar or Ahmedabad. The horizontally located offices are also used for internet access through the Gandhinagar gateway.
In conclusion the Broadband Wireless Network for the horizontal expansion of the SWAN network has been found to be successful and consistently giving the required performance.
